Ribbon cutting held for The View at Franklin apartments in Danville

City officials and developers held a ribbon-cutting Thursday for a large-scale apartment project on East Franklin Turnpike.

Mayor Alonzo Jones, Danville city council members and city staff joined developers to celebrate the ribbon cutting for The View at Franklin, a large-scale, market-rate multifamily community at 340 E. Franklin Turnpike.

The $16.2 million project’s first phase includes 135 garden-style walkup apartments with amenities including a pool, clubhouse, dog wash, package lockers and high-speed fiber internet.

Of those units, 20 are already leased, according to a news release from the city of Danville.

“The View at Franklin represents the type of high-quality housing that supports Danville’s growth,” Jones said in a prepared statement. “This development offers a modern living experience while providing convenient access to jobs, shopping, and entertainment. It’s exciting to see new investments like this take shape in our community.”

Susan McCulloch, division director of housing and development for the city of Danville, highlighted the development’s significance.
