The Danville Casino, operational for a partial month since May 15, reported nearly $12 million in revenue, according to the Virginia Lottery. Generated from 768 slot machines and 25 table games, the casino contributed over $2.1 million in tax revenue, with $715,000 allocated to the city. Additional funds of $300,000, part of the casino development agreement with Caesars, were also received by Danville. City Manager Ken Larking emphasized utilizing these funds for education, economic opportunities, neighborhood improvements, and financial stability, aligning with recommendations from the Investing in Danville Committee.
