For water sports enthusiasts, three large lakes, Smith Mountain, Buggs Island, and Hyco, provide excellent boating, fishing, swimming, and camping. 

Danville’s Parks and Recreation Department offers diverse programs for all ages from preschooler to senior citizens, from basket weaving to belly dancing. Children of all ages will find a summer camp designed especially for them.
