Corrie Teague joined the Danville Office of Economic Development in November 2009. She served as the Marketing and Research Manager until becoming Project Manager in July 2012 and then Assistant Director in January 2015. In her current role, Teague is responsible for assisting in the development of new industrial park property, such as the Mega Park, and is heavily involved in the redevelopment of River District properties. In addition to this, Teague works with existing River District merchants and the recruitment of small businesses and industrial projects to the city of Danville.
Prior to working in Economic Development, Teague worked as a Senior Account Executive for a marketing firm in San Francisco, California and then as an Account Operations Specialist for a major client at Infinity Global in Danville, Virginia.
In addition to her responsibilities at work, Teague is involved in a variety of clubs and organizations. She is currently a member of the West Piedmont Workforce Investment Board, member of the West Piedmont Planning District Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy committee, member of the Board of Directors for the Danville Science Center, member of the Virginia Economic Developers Association, secretary and co-marketing chair for the Bright Leaf Brew Fest, member of Converge Virginia (a state-wide leadership initiative through Senator Mark Warner’s office), member of the Board of Directors for the River District Association, committee member of the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals program, and president of the Danville-Pittsylvania County Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association. She was also a fellow in the Danville Regional Foundation's Middle Border Forward initiative and member of Leadership Connections. Teague has also been a member of the the Virginia Young Professionals Summit planning committee and the River District Festival Board of Directors.
Teague is a native of Danville, Virginia. She graduated from Danville Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Management. She is also a graduate of the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute and the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Southside XVII program.
